Priorities

Geography
ЗMIN is a local private institution focusing on change, mostly in the country’s Western region. We shall prioritize teams suggesting scenarios for change with regional impact. At the same time, we consider projects from beyond the listed scope and area.
Institutional capacity
Teams with well-established operations (understanding of organizational processes, budget management expertise in the team, experience with grant management).
Partnership
We shall prioritize teams engaged in partnership making, who join their effort and combine their resources for shared activities on the ground. Co-funding and own contribution are welcome.

The finalists will have their funds transferred upon the approval of the project and the budget, and when the contract is signed. The payment will be made either in full amount, or in two tranches, with the focus on the project’s scope and design.

What are the eligible costs?

costs required for project implementation that are in line with the principles of efficient, targeted, and reasonable use of funds
that will be shown in accounting records of the grantor and confirmed by the factual payments according to bank statements
salaries to project staff
*When including salaries to the budget, you need to follow the amounts of official salaries, fees and remunerations fixed in the organization, or that are regular fees, which may be confirmed (upon the Foundation’s request) with copies of appropriate documents (staff schedule, work contracts, civil contracts with natural persons or individual entrepreneurs)

What are the ineligible costs in the project?

for political activities or religious propaganda;
activities leading to direct or indirect discrimination of any social groups;
unjustified costs that significantly exceed market price on a similar product/service;
have to be accredited to other projects, or costs that shall be included into Project costs but have already been covered by other projects (double funding);
incurred before the official project start date;
for the drafting of project proposal to apply for the call;
for establishment and registration of the organization;
to pay the debts;
to reimburse costs related to fluctuations in currency exchange rates;
meant to cover salaries only. Except for projects which goals and objectives are to provide services. In this case, salaries are the eligible project costs;
a fee to one implementor shall not exceed 30,000 ₴ (also in total for different services to one implementor)
*In the event the amount of UAH 30,000 to one implementor is exceeded, you need to justify the costs and announce an internal tender (to present to the Foundation at least 3 price offers)
salaries to teams of municipal/state institutions in parts that is overlapping with their program activities;
for the organization of trips (flight tickets, train or bus tickets, etc.);
for the construction of repair works;
equipment that would later be transferred to other organization’s balance sheets;
catering services (also coffee breaks);
purchase of humanitarian assistance and/or military equipment;
purchase of vehicles and/or luxury items and the related services;
provision of financial assistance to third organizations (regranting).
